Battle of Franklin Trust: Civil War Memorial

Three historic landmarks during the American Civil War were the Carter House, Carnton Plantation and Lotz House. These form part of the Battle of Franklin trust memorial. Carter House was constructed in the year 1830 by F. B. Carter and it was a federal command post and refuge from the battle. Carlton Plantation was also constructed around this time by ex Nashville mayor R. McGavock which functioned as a hospital for confederate soldiers who were wounded. Lotz House is a dream come true for those who cherish family history, antiques and artwork as well as opulent furnishings. Each House has a separate admission fee, but you can also get a common ticket for all the three.

Fort Negley: Union Troops Largest Fortification

Fort Negley was one of the most distinct and biggest fortification put together by Union’s troops during the Civil War at Nashville. You can enjoy the wonderful exhibits and videos here as well as self guided tours and interactive displays. Admission is free.

America’s seventh president, also called the people’s leader created the beautiful heritage home for his wide. This mansion includes Alfred’s Cabin, Hermitage Cabin, and the First Hermitage.President Andrew Jackson owned the land on which the Hermitage has been built.
